When you use the app as a guest, we store only an anonymous device ID on your device. No name, no email, no location.
When you create an account, we store your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only what those services provide: a unique identifier and, optionally, your name.
We store your reading progress, personal reflections, and streak data to power your experience. Reflections are private and never shared.
If you submit a devotional idea or vote in the Community tab, your submission text and vote are stored in our database. Submissions are public within the app. Votes are anonymous.
We do not collect location data, contacts, camera access, microphone access, or browsing history. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads.
Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google are handled by Apple and Google respectively. We only receive the identity token they provide. We do not access your Apple or Google account data beyond what is needed to create your account.
Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure in the United States. We use Cloudflare D1 (SQLite) for structured data and Cloudflare R2 for images.
You may delete your account at any time from the Sanctuary tab. Account deletion removes your email, display name, and all linked data within 30 days.
Words for the Day is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
